In a word “no” it’s not OK to regularly clean your eye glasses with tissues.
If you’re one of the many who use tissues, the bottom of your shirt or the corner of the sheet, you should stop using that method now!
Why? Tissues are made from wood fibres and even though tissues are highly processed there is the likelihood of scratching your expensive prescription glasses.
You probably won’t see these scratches immediately but overtime the friction and fibers just may cover your eyeglasses with tiny scratches rendering them useless.
Likewise tiny particles embedded in sundry other clothing can damage your prescription reading glasses.

- Put your glasses under cold running water.
- Rub a little soap on your damp fingers and rub your glasses. Then shake dry.
